Our Pastor

Rev Mark R. Smith
Colleen M Smith
Pastor Mark has more than 30 years of experience in church ministry with the Church of the Nazarene. After relocating to Virginia to be nearer to their son and his family, they discovered a home at Connecting Pointe.
"Colleen and I still recall our first visit to Connecting Pointe; the way the church family welcomed us that day was just amazing. So many people came up to greet us. It was such a great first day that we often reminisce about it."
Pastor Mark is passionate about teaching, preaching, and discipleship. As the Senior Pastor at Connecting Pointe, he leads various ministries with a strong emphasis on nurturing and mentoring leaders and educators. He dedicates time to visit homes, nursing facilities, and hospitals, providing support to families and those who are elderly. Each day, he sends out encouraging notes and texts that include scripture and uplifting messages. Additionally, he collaborates with individuals, groups, and families, offering counseling, teaching, and training to foster spiritual growth. He is the Ministry Leader of Celebrate Recovery and oversees our food pantry.
Colleen actively participates in ministry, dedicating herself to supporting her husband and having a passion for Women's Ministry. She co-leads Women's Ministries at Connecting Pointe and serves on the VA District Women's Ministries Council, while also facilitating the Ladies Celebrate Recovery small group. Alongside her ministry efforts, Colleen works full-time as an HR Specialist for the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office. Though life is busy, she finds time for crafting, cooking, and caring for her two dogs and chickens. Her greatest joy is time with her family
Pastor Mark and Colleen have two sons. Their son Trevor and his wife Mandy live nearby in Midlothian and have three kids: Gemma, Tobin, and Matthew. Their son, Trenton, Hanna, and Zara live in Lakewood, CO. Pastor Mark has a variety of interests, including spending time with family, hunting, sports, reading, sharing good jokes, playing guitar, and enjoying Praise & Worship music.
Pastor Mark and Colleen draw inspiration from:
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8:8
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and
forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:18
As Pastor Mark likes to say, "Come give us a listen".
